Slovenia participates at the 62nd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women
Although not being a member, Slovenia like other years is participating at the sixty-second session of the Commission on the Status of Women, which is taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 12 to 23 March 2018. The Commission is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. It was established by ECOSOC in 1946. The Commission is instrumental in promoting women’s rights and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women.
The priority theme of this session is Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls.
The Slovenian delagation is headed by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Ms. Martina Vuk.
