Acting Director-General for International Law Kojc adresses UNGA's Sixth Committee

New York, 1 November 2012 - Mr. Robert Kojc, Acting Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia addressed the Sixth Committee Agenda Item 79: ‘Report of the International Law Commission on the work of its sixty-fourth session’. 

Mr. Kojc addressed the chapters V Protection of persons in the event of disasters, VII Provisional application of treaties and XIII Other decisions and conclusions of the Commission and touched upon other chapters of the report. He paid tribute to members of the Commission for the work at its sixty-forth session and the members of the Secretariat.  

His statement was mainly focused on the Protection of persons in the event of disasters whereby he stressed that Slovenia believes that this issue deserves the immediate attention of the international community, given the rising number of losses produced by natural disasters in today’s world.
